The story surrounds the adventures of Peter, Edmund, Lucy and Susan who are evacuated from London in 1940 to escape the impacts of WWII. The are sent to live with professor Digory Kirke, at a large house in an English countryside. Upon entering the wardrobe, Lucy finds that there is a magical kingdom known as Narnia.

Here she meets talking beasts and mythological creatures. One a faun named Tumnus, or Mr. Tumnus. He invites her for tea where he admits to working for the White Witch. Who has taken false authority over Narnia. Upon returning home, Lucy tells the others. Who are reluctant to believe her. But she convinces them to come along.
