The book «WOOL Omnibus» is one of the most popular bestsellers in the world. The author of the book is Hugh Howey. The dystopian genre is one of the favorite among readers. However, it is necessary to imagine how difficult it is for modern authors have, given the fact that the field is already occupied by pillars, such as Huxley and Orwell with “1984”. To surpass or at least achieve the current level – it is hard, if not impossible.
All these modern Hunger Games, Divergent and UnWholly are somewhere far, far away at the foot. And where is the WOOL? Good question, and I don’t have a clear answer. On the one hand we have described a realistic world, a rich and varied language, alive characters, enthralling plot.
On the other hand, dystopia is good for its conciseness. The world of dystopia of gray, cold, calculating, logical – he is. Modern books have this issue. They describe us worlds that fascinate, frighten, and intrigue. But these worlds are illogical. Why these extra movements? Excessive cruelty? In dystopia, everything fits into a clear framework. Need A, made B. Frightening lack of remorse, emotion, second thoughts. And we have something like, but too illogical. The same applies to WOOL.

The details of the plot, I think, still not worked. All Cox pros – almost Matrix. That there is a lottery ticket for reproduction I did not understand. Why initially it was necessary to remove the screens, the actual image? (It’s hardly a spoiler 🙂 why complicate it?
Also caused a sense of unease straightforward metaphor of the title, as the author was about to chew, what it means and its connection with the characters. However, the fact that the book raises such questions, says that she’s not bad.
